Fresh Dumplings

It's been a while since my last posting. Lots have happend since then. Will updat on subsequent postings but here's a summary of what's been going on.

Josh will be 5 soon, while my sweetie pie, Mantha has already turned 3. Both are growing well ( physiclly, so well that we are trying ot slow it down).

We ahve moved houses again, from Tanamera to Lake Edge in Puchong. Environment is nicer and location more strategic. The kids love this place coz there's a nice clubhouse with facilities, ie swimming pool, basketball and tennis courts. And of course, isnce its gated, they love cycling all over the streets. Both have made friends with some of the neighbours.

Daniel and family were also back this year and we have a great but hectic time, noth in KL and BP. Was great seeing them again after 3 years, especially the kids, John and Matt, who have grown up tremendously.

And once again, we are planning to move by end of this year. So the madness begins again!

Two year old dumpling

How time flies! My cuddly, cutey pie is now two! And we had the biggest bestest birthday bash ever. With a theme of 'Under the sea' we had lots of water games plus 'Pin the mermaid's tail'. We also had plenty of balllons, even one in the image of the Little Mermaid!
My little mermaid had tons of fun, with plenty of friends and toddlers making merry and stuffing their faces for the day. As usual we took plenty of pictures.

Game for Wonton?

We enrolled Joshua into a nursery this year. His school is called the Child Enrichment Centre (CEC)located at USJ12. His class consist of about 20 4 year olds, with a good mix of boys, girls, Chinese, Malays and Indian kids.

His teachers' names are Teacher Pam and Teacher Laily, whom he likes. Apart from the classroom activities, he also has gym day (Tuesdays) and swimming lessons (Fridays). He was very enthusiastic in the beginning, less so now.

Anyway, he participated in his first CEC sports day, involving 4 CEC branches from Subang alone.

His class participated in the march past and a game, called fix the bear, or something like that. He won a gold medal (so did everyone else who participated).

Important thing is he enjoyed himself tremendously! Here he is with his classmates and gold medal!

House of Dumplings (updated)

After 2 years, we have finally gotten our keys to our new house in Tanamera. Our new house is a 2 1/2 storey courtyard home, with some land attached. The kids should love that.

And since it is a gated community, we should be in a safer environment.

The kids will also have their own rooms, and so will Yanti. Another thing the kids, especially Joshua, will love is the swimming pool less than a hundred yards away.

There is also a guest rooms for visitors, which will also double as a home-office cum AV room.

Here are some more pictures of our house now.

"Red dumplings" (ang pows)

Gong Xi Fa Cai! This year CNY was spent a little differently for us. We spent a lot more time at home and had more people visit us than before.

We also has a lion dance with firecrackers!

We started with the CNY eve dinner. Grandma spent the evening with us for the first time in many years.

We had a sumptuous spread!

The next morning the little ones were dressed appropriately for their angpows.

Then came the lions who performed an exciting dance for all those present.

I must say that we certainly got into the festive mood bright and early this year!

The lone dumpling

All this attention on Josh must surely make my little Sam feel a little left out. So here are some pictures I took of her during Josh's party.

Sometimes, she was in the thick of the birthday action, sometimes she preferred to slink away out back.

Josh even caught up with her and tried to 'sayang' her with a hug!

To infinity...and beyond!

"My name is Buzz Lightyear. I come in peace!"

I shall be hearing a lot of this for the next few months. This is currently Josh's favourite character and we bought him a Buzz toy that talks...5 different phrases, I think.

Now Josh and Buzz are inseparable, which works both ways. We use it to blackmail him once in a while.

This must be the best present he has ever got.

Josh turns 3!

My son, Joshua, turned 3 on Saturday (Oct 1). Yes, it's been 3 years since I first became a father. How time flies.

Had a small do with a couple of other kids. Samantha was there, of course, so was Sonya, Charan and Lilly's kid. Alex, Nancy's kid also dropped by for some cake. I think this is the first time my son knows what a birthday means to him.

It has been hyped up all week, with promises of cakes and ice cream and presents. Balloons have been hanging on the wall for a few days and Joshua has gone into the hyper mode ever since.
